We’re so stoked to announce two special events.

At 1pm we are screening

A WINTER’S TALE (Remastered) + Filmmaker Q&A.

This is the first time the rarely seen A WINTER’S TALE has screened publicly for nearly 50 years. Even if you saw it back then, you’ve never seen it looking this good. After the film join us for a Q&A with Director, Phil Sheppard, as well as a behind-the-scenes look at THE SURF FILM ARCHIVE.

“A Winter’s Tale was Morning of the Earth for the hardcore surfer”  NICK CARROLL

and then at 6pm

That was Then, This is Now feat. Headland

Don’t miss this remarkable, one-off event!

For the last two years THE SURF FILM ARCHIVE has been digging into the dusty cupboards and under the beds of our original surf filmmakers to find and restore Australia and New Zealand’s lost surf films. At this very special event, salty legends HEADLAND bring this remarkable and never-before-seen footage to life.

Featuring remastered lost Paul Witzig reels, Dick Hoole footage from the earliest days of surf exploration in Indonesia, classic moments from the Bob Evans archive and excerpts from many more rarely seen classic surf films. This stunning footage, from the birth of Australian and NZ surfing, will be accompanied by HEADLAND in full seven-piece band mode.

“Treasure chest…that’s what you got given! ……. well done, looking forward to seeing more Aussie surf culture appearing before our eyes, yew”  DEAN WARE

“Utterly fantastic”  ROSS HAMILTON

“Beer, music and surf movies. What’s not to love?”  MURRAY PATERSON

Also screening DISTANT SHORE, a new short film by Ishka Folkwell featuring Torren Martyn.

Or buy a combo ticket, save a booking fee and spend the afternoon with us!

Make sure you get your tickets early!
